Sell with us!

So you’re ready to declutter your home while putting some $$ back in the bank account?? Great! We can’t wait to have you sell with us! Here are the general steps you’ll need to take to book and follow through with a takeover:

1: Choose your takeover style

  • General Takeovers involve doing all the work (organizing, grouping into lots, photos, pricing, captions, posting, selling, arranging pick ups and payment, etc.) yourself. The cost involved is an initial booking fee (depends on the location you’re booking with), but you keep all of your sales.

  • Trust Fall Takeovers involve you dropping off your items at the home of your location’s Kids Closet host on a pre-determined date, then sitting back and allowing us to do all the work for you. There is no booking fee, but sales are split 50/50. Within two weeks of your sale dates, you’ll be e-transferred your half of the sales, and a date will be arranged for you to pick up any remaining items. It’s that easy!

2: Book your takeover dates

  • General Takeovers: Check out our booking calendar here by selecting the location and style of takeover you’d like. Then find the available dates that work best for you, reserve and pay for them, and you’re ready to go!

  • Trust Fall Takeovers: Fill out the application here , then wait to hear back from one of our hosts about availability. Due to overwhelming demand for this type of takeover, there is no guarantee we will be able to accommodate Trust Falls for everyone.

3: Sign our Seller agreement
The host for your preferred Kids Closet page will send you an email with the Seller agreement, which you’ll respond to/return to them in order to finalize your booking.

4: Get ready!

  • Start purging all those outgrown baby, toddler, kid, and maternity items that are still in great condition. Wash everything you plan on selling, and keep it in a sealed container to keep dust, dirt, animal hair, and anything else off of the items.

  • You may want to sort bins/boxes by sizes or types of items to give yourself (or us if you’re doing a Trust Fall Takeover) a head start!

5: Takeover Time!

  • General Takeover – It’s good to give yourself a few days in advance of your takeover to sort your items, take all of your photos, and have the captions/prices ready. Then when it’s time to takeover, you’ll be ready to sell, sell, sell!

  • Trust Fall Takeover – Once you’ve dropped off your items, your work is honestly done. Feel free to watch (or not watch, if that’s easier) the sale unfold, and just wait for your e-transfer to arrive!
